Carrier Unveils Upgraded AquaForce® 30XF with FreeBoost™ Technology
Carrier announces the enhanced AquaForce® 30XF chiller featuring their new FreeBoost™ technology at Data Centre World Paris 2025.
Part of the QuantumLeap™ Solutions portfolio, the updated chiller is specifically engineered for high-performance green data centres to deliver outstanding energy efficiency, a quiet operating environment and ultra-fast capacity recovery under high-ambient temperatures. Carrier is part of Carrier Global Corporation (NYSE: CARR), global leader in intelligent climate and energy solutions.
FreeBoost™ Technology: Setting New Standards in Efficiency and Certification
Already optimised for free cooling, the updated AquaForce® 30XF now features FreeBoost™ technology, enhancing mechanical cooling performance as well. This results in exceptional seasonal efficiency – up to 25 under data centre conditions – enabling best in-class Power Usage Effectiveness (PUE) levels below 1.2. These performances are both PEP ecopassport® certified and Eurovent under data centre conditions, making the 30XF the first and only unit with this certification, a true testament to its reliability and technological leadership.
Optimised Design for Lower Total Cost of Ownership (TCO)
“The 30XF’s combination of higher energy efficiency and reduced power input lowers the Total Cost of Ownership (TCO),” says Aritz Calvo, Product Manager for Screw Chillers and Heat Pumps at Carrier Climate Solutions Europe. “Factor in the unit’s reduced height to simplify installation into existing infrastructures, and our customers can optimise both their capital and operating expenses.”
Jérémie Chang, Data Centre Vertical Marketing Manager at Carrier Climate Solutions Europe, adds, “Because the updated 30XF’s new design lowers the power input, customers now have the choice to either reduce their generator size or increase the IT power capacity, thereby supporting the operation of more servers.”
Reliable Performance in Extreme Conditions
Operational continuity is provided with ultra-fast capacity recovery (60-120 seconds) even under extreme conditions, while optimised performance up to 55°C maintains stability during heat extremes.
Carrier has also worked to create a quieter, more comfortable environment through improved acoustic performance, which offers an operating 30XF down to 94 dB(A).
Advanced System-Level Control and Optimisation
Furthermore, the use of Carrier’s own compressor technology streamlines maintenance by eliminating reliance on third-party components. Performance and energy management are maximised via QuantumLeap™, Carrier’s advanced system-level control and optimisation solution, powered by Nlyte Data Centre Infrastructure Management (DCIM) and Automated Logic’s (ALC) Building Automation System (BAS).
Carrier is committed to providing solutions that help data centres cut energy costs and boost performance, maximising productivity and sustainability.
